‘The Laureate’

Saturday, May 8th, 2010

Hayley is linked to a new project with actor Dominic Cooper (co-star in The Duchess) which is being introduced to buyers at the Cannes Film Festival.

William Nunez wrote and will direct the drama, set in the 1920s about a love triangle between the young British war poet Robert Graves, his wife Nancy and the passionate young American writer Laura Riding.

Production is set to begin in autumn in the UK and Ireland on the story, set in Britain’s Roaring ‘20s as Graves encounters a beautiful young American writer studying at Oxford. Defying societal convention, the woman moves in with Graves and his wife, leading to tension and Graves’ implication in attempted murder.

Although it seems Hayley may be playing ‘the other woman’ again, if done right it sounds like an interesting plot line – if a bit overused of late. But I shouldn’t judge it by a few lines.

Love Hate Clip

I came across this new clip of Love Hate – though I really want to see the whole thing!

CAPTAIN AMERICA!!

Friday, April 16th, 2010

After much umming and ahhing on the internets over this role it’s been finally announced that Hayley will be playing Peggy Carter in the upcoming comic book adaption of Captain America with actor Chris Evans in the title role.

I for one am very excited to see Hayley in a big Hollywood film, although I don’t see her doing them all the time it’s an amazing opportunity for her to get her name out there for bigger roles. Also this adaption has been getting good buzz on the internet so hopefully it’ll be entertaining. She’s sure going to be busy these next months!

Two New Projects

Sunday, March 28th, 2010

After a dry spell of news of late I am happy to say that it’s now known for sure the two projects (that she had hinted at earlier) are to be. (with thanks to the Daily Mail)

First off is Born Yesterday where Hayley will co-star against Chris Noth (known for Mr Big in Sex and the City). Hayley will play Billie Dawn and the synophsis is such:

An uncouth, corrupt tycoon, Harry Brock, brings his showgirl mistress Billie Dawn with him to Washington, D.C. When Billie’s ignorance becomes a liability to Brock’s business dealings, he hires a journalist, Paul Verrall, to educate his girlfriend. In the process of learning, Billie Dawn realizes how corrupt her boyfriend is and begins interfering with his plans to bribe a Congressman into passing legislation that would allow Brock’s business to make more money.

Hayley hasn’t done comedy before, so I’ll look forward to reviews of the play when it premieres.

Secondly is a television adaption of Any Human Heart where she’ll co-star with Matthew MacFayden and Jim Broadbent. The adaption will follow the ‘fictional life of writer Logan Mountstuart, a Zelig-like figure who pops up just as momentous events throughout the 20th century are unfolding’. Hayley will play Freya, Mountstuart’s muse, mistress and second wife.
