Laurence Olivier Awards

February 8th, 2010

It has come to my attention that Hayley has been nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in A View from the Bridge. Being such a prestigious award for theatre I’m sure that Hayley is estatic about the news and I give the best of luck to her. The full nominees are as follows:

  • Hayley Atwell for A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE at the Duke of York’s
  • Rachael Stirling for THE PRIORY at the Jerwood Theatre Downstairs at the Royal Court
  • Keira Knightley for THE MISANTHROPE at the Comedy
  • Alexandra Gilbreath for TWELFTH NIGHT at the Duke of York’s
  • Michelle Dockery for BURNT BY THE SUN at the Lyttelton
  • Ruth Wilson for A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE at the Donmar

  • First event of 2010!

Hello all! A few days ago I added pictures of Hayley at the Cirque du Soleil’s ”Varekai” Premiere in London but I didn’t update the main page. It seems that Hayley is taking a well earned break for a bit, although those in the UK still have The Prisoner to look forward to this year and The Pillars of the Earth is also be a shown.

Sorry for the lack of updates here – hopefully there’ll be more in the new year.

    Events and Quotations

    December 8th, 2009

Hayley recently attended the Women in Film and Television Awards and the British Independent Film Awards looking fabulous at both.

Hayley is also nominated for the Whatsonstage.com Awards the ‘theatre-goers choice’ for Best Supporting Actress in A View from the Bridge.

Also actress Ruth Wilson in a recent interview has given insight to a new project that Hayley was involved in – taking the initiative to produce a film that is female dominated, to have a chance to create interesting female roles and stories that are difficult to find elsewhere.

Wilson has got together a stellar team of women writers, directors and actresses and the idea, cooked up with fellow actress Hayley Atwell, is to produce a feature film made up of shorts by and for women. “Seven writers and seven directors, all women,” she says, reeling off names. “Some of the women who are keen to direct are Rachel Weisz, Gillian Anderson, Tara Fitzgerald.

Hopefully we’ll find out more about this project the more it comes to the spotlight and whether Hayley will have an active role in its coming-about.
